Unit 2: Strategy and Writing Behavioral Statements

Science is an active process of de-biasing and behavioral statements are an important way to do that. By defining our success criteria, we prevent what happens all too often today: you get to the end of the project and the “winning” is chosen based on opinion, not evidence. The behavioral statement is our chance to define the ruler we’re going to use to measure success, so that we can apply it evenly later.

Activity:

Think about a project where multiple alternatives were considered and a “winner” determined.

How was the winner chosen?

Was it based on evidence or opinion?
