Two dandelions in a field, one full, one blown away

Even if I work all day, every day, I can’t possibly tackle all of the ways in which the world can be built and powered better.  That’s why I love advising: it is a chance to make things better for everyone, without losing focus on the specific projects that take the majority of my energy.  Whether it is helping a successful founder understand how to take the next step or helping a team understand how a product can take into account human motivation and psychology, enabling the success of good ideas is good for the world.  And its fun.

Due to concentrating on spending time with my son, I am currently not accepting new angel investment opportunities.  I will continue to take independent and observer board seats, but only for startups in which my experience and expertise is directly relevant.  Unless you’re asking me to take a formal advisory role or board seat, I do not accept equity.

I currently do my office hours in New York City, roughly every two weeks.  I also frequently travel and may be in your city soon.  If you want to book some time, please email me at and I’ll do my best to respond promptly.

an N of 1: in statistics, a sample size of 1 has almost no validity. in life, this is less true.
